….And we were worried!?…

12.7.14 And We were worried?

We have some great news! God has given us a place to call HOME in Southern California!

We have officially been approved to lease a 3BR/1.5BA townhouse in Mission Viejo, CA which is RIGHT where we hoped to be.  Location is perfect and is close to: many of the colleges and Universities we needed to be near for ministry, major airports missionaries use, down the street from Interstate 5 (which is a major artery of travel), it’s south LA so easier to reach San Diego area colleges, and even close to Bree’s extended family!

It’s amazing to me how much we tend to struggle with anxiety and fear when He asks us to walking out in faith… but He has always been so faithful to us and provided for us. This provision is just another example.  If we are honestly… it was such a roller coaster of a process… and we gave into anxiety many times… but God came through as He always does.

Our move date is December 28th which is coming up soon! For the rest of December we will be up in our home area of Northern California with the goal of finishing strong in our season of raising partnerships.

Lastly, we will be needing to furnishing this ministry home and will be starting from close to ground zero.  Right before moving to CA we lost our car when a dear dashed into us on the road and we ended up needing to part ways with the majority of our household possessions…  If you are interested in partnering with us in this way, please check out our “needs list” http://bit.ly/1u6pXdC.

We made it to MTC!

We Made It to MTC!

Wow… we are amazed by God once again.  We have officially started classes at the New Tribes Missionary Training Center in Missouri and we could not be more excited. This has been a “next step” for some time and it has finally begun.  What really amazes us is how God provided for us to get here.  Last May, we looked at the increasingly intimidating mountain of financial support that would be needed and… we shook in our boots. All we knew was this was the next step and if He wanted us there, He would have to get us there.  Well, we watched as God used many of YOU to partner with us to send us to Papua New Guinea this last October and now here to the training.  We wanted to thank all of you who prayed for us and came behind us financially these last few months.  We are here in class because of what God did through you and we are cannot wait to dive in.  This is some of best missionary training in the world and we are humbled to be apart of it.

classThe incoming spring semester classes are typically on the smaller side and our class is no exception.  There are nine of us in our class, but boy are we diverse!  We have three married couples and three single ladies.  We have Germany, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Papua New Guinea, New Jersey, Illinois, and California all represented in our small class! We all take the same subjects together and get to join in with the other classes on campus a few times a week for chapel and other events.

Though small, our apartment is great! Plenty of room for us to live, study, and have folks over.  The campus is situated on a cove of the Lake of the Ozark and is beautiful.  Lots of places to enjoy the outdoors once it gets a bit warmer! 😉

Thanks again for sending us to training! We are confident in the Lord that we are in the right place and look forward to learn all He has for us here.

We Need Your Help!

SEND US TO CLASS!
We are so thankful for God’s journey these last few years and cannot believe where He has taken us.  We are now  excited for our next step which is to complete our training with New Tribes Mission (NTM).  To do so, we must complete our training at the Missionary Training Center in Missouri which will take one year. There is so much to learn there and it builds upon the biblical education we had a New Tribes Bible Institute these last two years.  Once we finish the training we will be officially eligible to become members of New Tribes Mission who’s heartbeat is to reach the remaining 2000+ unreached people groups around the world for Christ.

WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT
Our prayer is that we would be aligning our lives to God’s will which is to reach the lost and make disciples of every tribe, tongue, and nation. We believe God has been preparing us to be apart of this by reaching out to the Missionary Kids (MKs).  Successful ministry to MKs would be to help reinforce them while on the mission field spiritually, socially and emotionally, reintegrate them smoothly through cross-cultural transition into their “passport” culture, and help reestablish their foundation of faith. We feel strongly that this ministry is vital to reaching the nations as it helps missionary families remain healthy and able to stay on the mission field. God’s plan truly takes a team effort. Behind the missionaries working directly in remote tribes, it takes countless other missionaries who are supporting that work. It takes pilots, supply buyers, accountants, IT, school teachers, etc. Together they work with the goal of reaching the unreached in this world.  However, this “team” does not end there. It takes you, the church body to join the team in prayer and financial partnership.

A good question you may be asking is why the need for more training. Through prayer, guidance from NTM leadership, and our mentors, we truly believe this is our next step.  If you are interested in hearing more about how we came to this decision, please check out our recent blog post “Why MTC” and if you are interested in learning more about ministry to MKs check out http://www.petenbree.com

THE NEED
1. Can you help us get to class this January?  We have already been accepted into the program but need to raise the $10,000 needed for tuition cost.  Every little bit helps.

2. As we get going on this journey, we need to build our monthly financially support team. This allows us to operate to our fullest potential. Please consider joining the team.
